Common Name or Meaning The Articulated Aerangis
Flower Size 1 1/4" to 2" [3 to 4 cm]
Found in Madagascar and the Comorros on trunks and major branches of forest trees at elevations of sealevel to 2000 meters as a miniature to small sized hot to cool growing species with short, stout stems carrying several obovate or oblong-obovate, coriaceous, obliquely 2 lobed apically leaves that is quite showy when it blooms in the fall on an axillary, 9 to 18" [22.5 to 45 cm] pendant, racemose sometimes branched, stout inflorescence with up to 18 scented [Jasmine], long-lived, waxy flowers.
Needs to be mounted on cork or tree fern to best display the pendant inflorescence, given ample shade and high humidity as well as daily waterings through the spring and summer months then increase light and give slightly less through the fall and winter.
