Product Details

Height: Graceful weeping conifer that can grow from 60 to 90 ft tall.

Habitat: Grows best in full to part sun in well-drained soil.

Foliage: Dark green foliage set on drooping branches. Scale (leaves) are tightly flattened or four-sided and are arranged on spreading sprays that have pointed tips.

Fruits: Small yellow cones and brown cones.

Bark: Gray brown, thin bark with narrow stripes.

Natural Habitat: Found in coastal or mountainous moist regions of North America.

Why is it good for my garden? This conifer has a graceful weeping structure and a lighter color then other evergreen trees. Grows well in moist areas. Native Americans carve canoes, canoe paddles and masks out of the beautiful wood. This tree is also considered one of the finest timber trees in the world and also makes for great firewood with its extreme heartwood qualities. It can also be used in bonsai.
