The Red Gum (Eucalyptus erythrocorys) is a small tree with an open spreading canopy. The bark is smooth with a creamy colour but can have a few rough brown coloured patches in places where the bark has not shed. In Autumn, the tree produces yellow and fluffy flowers, emerging from green flower buds with a vivid red, warty cap.
Suitable for general garden planting, flowers and buds can be cut as indoor decorations.

Grow in a sunny position in moist, well-drained soil. It tolerates drought but is not frost-tolerant. Prune after flowering to promote bushy growth.
