A stunning dwarf cycad with an underground stem and up to 35 long-stalked, fernlike leaves that are divided into numerous leaflets. B. serrulata comes from a small area in southeastern Queensland, Australia, where it grows in moist forest. It adapts well to cultivation and can be successfully grown in tropical and warm temperate climates where it prefers warm, humid conditions out of the sun. These seeds have been increasingly difficult to come by in recent years.
