Quantity:  
A slender palm that forms large and crowded clusters of tall, spiny trunks which can reach about 25 m (83 ft.) tall, topped with crowns of elegantly arching but spiny leaves with drooping leaflets. It is native to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo and Java, where it grows in coastal areas on swampy ground and just inland of the mangrove zone. It is an amazingly fast grower and a highly ornamental palm for tropical areas.
