Description
A rhizomatous species that I have long wanted to list as it is one of the very few Allium with bright yellow flowers. Impressive , as not only is each starry flower fairly big at 1 cm, but the umbel is a good size also, at 4 cm across on a 40 cm stem with the leaves.
It inhabits arid regions of primarily Iran and this needs to be taken into account in cultivation as it hates water during summer. Best in pots to regulate moisture.
