Description
The only autumn-flowering species of Arum that there is!
Stout, velvet-textured purple-black spathes with a black spadix in September and October. These are borne almost stemless and are held near to the ground, emerging from amongst the developing leaves. The leaves themselves, when they develop a few weeks later are delicately embossed with attractive, slightly silvery, veining.
Not to be confused with the wrongly-named “pictum” form of Arum italicum.
Horticultural stock, originally from Majorcan seed.
