Description

A tree with a beautiful form; the spreading canopy makes for a lovely shade tree. Attractive textured and fissured brown-grey bark. Long mauve to pink flowers stand well above the compound leaves – flowering begins in the second to third year. Deciduous for about a week in early summer; new leaves are a lovely purple changing to bright green. Non-aggressive roots. Eastern Cape, KwaZulu- Natal.
