The Hard Rock Cafe in Beverly Hills, Calif., landed 1960s singer Nancy Sinatra’s signature white go-go boots on this day in 1996.
Sinatra, daughter of Ol’ Blue Eyes and the first to make a hit of the song “These Boots Are Made for Walking” in 1966, wore the boots when performing in support of her album called, fittingly, “Boots.”
Sadly, the Beverly Hills location of the chain has closed, and the only Nancy artifact the Hard Rock shows in its online collection is a creepy love letter from Sinatra to “Wall of Sound” music producer Phil Spector, already apparently a control freak then and now a convicted killer.
