An Apple II computer manual signed by Steve Jobs sells at auction for nearly $800,000

A rare manual for an Apple II Computer signed by co-founder Steve Jobs in 1980 sold at auction for nearly $800,000.

According to the site RR Auction, based in Boston, the reference manual signed by Jobs and Mike Markkula, who was an angel investor in Apple and the company's second CEO, sold on Aug. 19 for $787,484.

The manual had belonged to Julian Brewer, whose father negotiated exclusive distribution rights for Apple in the U.K. in 1979, the auction site said.

"Julian, Your generation is the first to grow up with computers. Go change the world!" reads the inscription within the Apple manual.

The manual was among several pieces of Apple-related memorabilia sold during the auction, including a letter with Jobs' signature sold for nearly $480,000 and a copy of the first issue of Macworld signed by Jobs and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak for more than $200,000.

Jobs died in 2011 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
