Re: Ferguson Videostar model differences ????
There's likely to be a few Ferguson brochures over on the VRAT Forum, and also this chap on YouTube has covered a number of them.

Re: Ferguson Videostar model differences ????
There was a twin speed SP/LP version of the stereo 3v48, I used to have one but will try and find the exact model number.

Re: Ferguson Videostar model differences ????
My cross ref shows that the 3V56 is based on the JVC HRP50E, that is HRP and not HRD.

Re: Ferguson Videostar model differences ????
It was the 3v58, there is one on Youtube. Looks almost identical to 3v48.
Here is a 3v59, which looks very similar to the above but is mono.

Re: Ferguson Videostar model differences ????
The 3v48 was single speed only, I had one. The 3v58 added audio only LP. That gave a blank screen in this mode, hence the confusion!

Re: Ferguson Videostar model differences ????
I think the closest "equivalent" to an LP version of the 3V48 would be the 3V53, I have a 3V48 in my collection and can recall purchasing my original 3V48 from Thorn staff sales in Spennymoor (near Durham) at the time not realising that it was a standard play only Hi-Fi sound model.

Ah - I also got caught out with that when a customer thought it was a fault - and so did I.
What an odd feature! |

Re: Ferguson Videostar model differences ????
The 3V53 was the clone of the excellent JVC HRD-725. This had HiFi Sound and Dolby Stereo sound in both SP and LP modes.
