Description
Native to Cape Province in South Africa. Naturalised on the coast in Provence.
Sandy or stony soil amongst dune scrub.
Flowers
A very fragrant corm with creamy, funnel-shaped flowers, 2-8 on a spike, all facing the same direction. The middle lower tepal is flushed with yellow.
Leaves
Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Sword-shaped, tapering to a point, 15 cm long.
Fruits Seeds
Capsule: slightly warty with hard, rounded, shiny seeds.
