Description

This is a parasitic plant, tapping into the roots of surrounding plants to survive, often forming thickets. Most noticeable in summer when it bears red berries, which turn black in autumn.

Sweetly scented, yellow flowers with 3 petals, male and female on separate plants.

Leaves

Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Narrow. leathery, alternate on the stem, 15-35 mm.

Fruits Seeds

Drupe: the outer fleshy parts surround a shell with a seed inside, 5-7 mm.
