Description

Full name is Poa bulbosa var. vivipara. The name ‘Poa’ comes from Greek meaning fodder. A grass that is bulbous at the base and grows in tufts on dry, rocky, calcareous soil.

The seeds germinate before separating from the mother plant.

Flowers

The flowers at the end of the stalks are in loose clusters, giving the grass a wispy appearance.

Leaves

Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Short, narrow, flat or furrowed, 1-2 mm wide; smooth but rough at the margins.
