‘Kung Fu Panda’ Creators Ethan Reiff & Cyrus Voris Team With ‘The Wire’s Agnieszka Holland To Pitch Napoleon Drama In Berlin
Kung Fu Panda creators Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris have teamed with The Wire and House of Cards director Agnieszka Holland on a series about Napoleon that will be offered to TV buyers at the Berlin Film Festival.
The show is the most high-profile drama to be presented as part of the Berlinale’s Co-Pro Series 2019, which will take place in the German city on 12 and 13 February. The show, which is produced by UK producer Saltire Entertainment will be offered to producers, programming directors, distributors and other series financiers at the fifth iteration of the pitch event.

Reiff and Voris wrote the original screenplay for the Dreamworks Animation hit as well as feature film Bulletproof Monk and Showtime’s Sleeper Cell. Polish director Holland has directed a number of U.S. series, including Hulu’s The First as well as HBO’s Eastern Europe mini-series Burning Bush.
The series will focus on the French military leader and his cult of personality, echoing certain current political leaders.
Elsewhere, the event will host a raft of Nordic dramas including DR’s A Family Matter from Danish Berlinale director Pernille Fischer Christensen (A Soap) and Maja Jul Larsen (Borgen), Finnish drama Reindeer Mafia from writer Sami Parkkinen and directors Mika Kurvinen and Mika Kaurismäki, an action drama in which snowmobile-riding rockers challenge the power of the Reindeer clan leaders, Faroe Islands series Trom from Torfinnur Jákupsson, Norwegian drama Hacker and comedy series Clone from Ole Giæver.
From Switerzland comes Davos with writers Michael Sauter, Thomas Hess and Christoph Busche and director Michael Krummenacher, and Austria’s post-war thriller Big Bones from David Schalko. Finally, from Australia and New Zealand comes crime drama Flesh & Blood.

The Berlinale Co-Production Market is above all an important gathering place for the growing number of renowned filmmakers and producers that work both in the area of film and within the series format,” said Berlinale Director Dieter Kosslick.
