countermeasures capabilities. Our systems are

With over one-half million systems in more 

than 30 countries, military radio families from 

Exelis provide net-centric communications. 

Exelis technologies are at the core of the world’s 

largest military digitization program – the U.S. 

Army’s tactical internet and the U.K. Bowman 

program. Our Global Network on the Move Active 

Distribution (GNOMAD) system provides secure 

mobile broadband communications for military 

forces operating at the forward edge. 

COMMUNICATIONS

DEFENSE AGAINST ASYMMETRIC THREATS 

IS CRITICAL TO THE PROTECTION OF FORCES 

DURING GROUND OPERATIONS. 

Exelis provided and deployed thousands of 

counter-IED devices to military operations in 

Iraq and Afghanistan. These vehicle-mounted 

electronic warfare jammers are designed 

to prevent activation of Radio-Controlled 

Improvised Explosive Devices by detecting 

and disrupting radio communications. We are 

currently working on a networked solution to 

provide advanced capabilities.
