SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION (Confessions): Saturdays<br />

PARISH BAPTISM POLICY: Parents and godparents are asked to<br />
participate in one pre-baptismal catechesis <strong>of</strong>fered on the third<br />
Thursday <strong>of</strong> each month, at 6:30PM in the <strong>St</strong>. Clare classroom.<br />
Parents are kindly requested to make arrangements for the date <strong>of</strong><br />
baptism one month prior with Nancy at the parish <strong>of</strong>fice. The next<br />
Pre-Baptism Catechesis will be Thurs., February 19th at 6:30 PM.<br />
PARISH MARRIAGE POLICY: In conformity with diocesan<br />
policy, couples are asked to make arrangements with the priest at least<br />
six months in anticipation <strong>of</strong> a wedding date. Do not set a date before<br />
you consult with a priest. Nuptial Masses are celebrated at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Francis</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Assisi</strong> Catholic Church. Pre Cana course is <strong>of</strong>fered every six<br />
months. Our next Pre Cana date is Saturday, May 9, 2009 and will<br />
be here at our Parish Center.<br />

Prayer List<br />
Do you have a seriously ill family<br />
member or friend? We are starting a<br />
prayer list to be published in the<br />
weekly bulletin inviting parishioners<br />
to pray for the names in the list. If you<br />
have the sick person’s permission, you<br />
may request that their name be<br />
printed in the bulletin list for prayers. Names<br />
will be deleted after a period <strong>of</strong> one month. Call<br />
the parish <strong>of</strong>fice (914-2175) and speak with the<br />
receptionist to leave the name <strong>of</strong> the family<br />
member who is in need <strong>of</strong> prayer. We will begin<br />
publishing a list <strong>of</strong> names in next week’s<br />

Relief Services’ Lenten Program, Operation<br />
Rice Bowl. Since 1975, Operation Rice<br />
Bowl has inspired Catholics in the United<br />
<strong>St</strong>ates to pray, fast, learn, and give as we<br />
increase our understanding <strong>of</strong> our global<br />
community. We will connect this<br />
understanding with the principles <strong>of</strong><br />
Catholic Social Teaching throughout our<br />
Lenten journey. We encourage your to<br />
participate in Operation Rice Bowl at home<br />

<strong>St</strong>. Clare <strong>of</strong> <strong>Assisi</strong> Women’s Guild<br />
Our purpose is to embrace, support, and encourage<br />
the women <strong>of</strong> our Parish through spiritual<br />
development, fundraising, and fellowship. Open to<br />
all women <strong>of</strong> the parish.<br />
Our next meeting is March 10th at 6:30pm.<br />
<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Francis</strong> Rosary Makers<br />
Rosary Makers provide handmade rosaries to<br />
missionaries. Our next meeting is Feb. 17th<br />
at 9:30 am.<br />
Knights <strong>of</strong> Columbus<br />
We are a service organization <strong>of</strong> Catholic men and their families<br />
founded on the principles <strong>of</strong> Charity, Unity,<br />
Fraternity and Patriotism. We provide<br />
volunteer opportunities in service to the<br />
Catholic Church, the community, families, and<br />
young people. For membership info. please<br />

K <strong>of</strong> C meets the first Tuesday <strong>of</strong> each month<br />
at 6:30 pm<br />
Ladies Auxillary <strong>of</strong> Knights <strong>of</strong> Columbus<br />
Open to the wives, widows, and daughters <strong>of</strong> the Knights,<br />
providing sociability and assisting Knights with various projects.<br />
We help to support the <strong>church</strong>’s building fund and help needy<br />
women.<br />
Meets the same evening as the Knights, 1st Tuesday <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Month at 6:30pm<br />
Respect Life Ministry<br />
Our mission is to promote and defend the<br />
dignity <strong>of</strong> human life from conception<br />
to natural death according to the teachings <strong>of</strong><br />
the Holy Roman Catholic Church.<br />
Our next meeting is Tues, March 9th at 6:30 pm.<br />
Choirs are practicing, join our Music<br />
Ministry! Rehearsals times are as follows:<br />
Adult Choir - Mondays 7:15, open to adult<br />
parishioners<br />
Children’s Choir -Mondays 6:45pm, open to<br />
all children, elementary—junior high<br />
Alcoholics Anonymous<br />
Meetings are every Monday, 7:00pm<br />
in the Santo Nino Cry Room<br />
Catholic Fellowship for Singles—60+<br />
Meets the first Tuesday <strong>of</strong> every month at 1:00pm. The next<br />
meeting is March 3rd. We meet at Black Mountain Grill at<br />
Eastern & Sunridge Heights. Call Lila at 796-1953 for more<br />

Catholic Charismatic Prayer Group<br />
We meet every Monday night from 7 PM to 8:30 PM<br />
in the Our Lady <strong>of</strong> the Angels room. Come and join<br />
us.<br />
Parish Organizations<br />
Holy Name Society<br />
We promote honor and glory to the Holy Name <strong>of</strong><br />
God/<strong>of</strong> Jesus Christ and sanctification <strong>of</strong> its<br />
members. Open to all parishioners.<br />
Monthly Mass & Corporate Communion is the<br />
2nd Saturday <strong>of</strong> the Month, 5:30 PM. Parish Rosary at 5 PM.<br />
Our Mother <strong>of</strong> Perpetual Help Novena will be every Wed. at<br />
8:35am after Mass in the Our Lady <strong>of</strong> the Angels room.<br />
San Lorenzo Ruiz Guild<br />
We foster knowledge <strong>of</strong> and devotion to San Lorenzo<br />
Ruiz, serve the parish in various ministries and fund<br />
raising, and keep alive relevant Philippine religious<br />
customs and traditions. Monthly meeting:<br />
Last Thursday <strong>of</strong> the month, 5:30pm<br />
Hospitality — C<strong>of</strong>fee, Hot Chocolate,<br />
Water and Doughnuts are served by our<br />
hospitality volunteers each Sunday.<br />
Hospitality Volunteers needed after all<br />
Masses. Please call Angie at 407-0626 if you<br />
would like to volunteer.<br />
Homebound Visitors<br />
If you cannot leave your home, we have<br />
parishioners ready to visit and bring Holy<br />
Communion. Call the parish <strong>of</strong>fice for more details.<br />
<strong>St</strong>. Peregrine Cancer Support Group<br />
Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday <strong>of</strong> each month at 6:30<br />
PM. Cancer patients, Cancer Survivors, and Caregivers are<br />
encouraged to attend. Our next meeting will be February<br />
18th at 6:30 pm in the <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Francis</strong> classroom.<br />
There are many ways to serve at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Francis</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Assisi</strong>.<br />
