Katherine Justice, 2017 - NursingMy name is Katherine Justice and I’m a Senior Nursing Student here at Gonzaga. I was born and raised in a small town in Eastern Oregon called, Pendleton. I grew up with one older brother, who graduated from Gonzaga with a Mechanical Engineering degree in May of 2015. Growing up my parents both worked for the Forest Service. Today, my father works as a Geospatial Systems Specialist and my mother is a Human Resource Specialist. During my time here at Gonzaga, I have been a part of the Irish club and GSNA (Gonzaga Student Nurses Association), along with the SMILE program. I also live in a Gonzaga Owned Off-Campus Themed House, which always me to build community not only with my fellow Zags, but also with members of the Logan Neighborhood. Each semester my house hosts an event and once a year will do a community service project. In the Summers, I have worked as a Camp Counselor for my local Parks and Recreation Program for the youths of Pendleton. In addition, I have worked as a nanny in Spokane for several families and have been lucky enough to feel as though Spokane as become my second home. Gonzaga has given me an amazing Jesuit Education that has help to establish a solid foundation that will enable me to obtain my dream of one day becoming a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
