No. 10 Men’s Tennis to Host Vanderbilt on Friday

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 10 Texas A&M men's tennis team continues conference play against the Vanderbilt Commodores Friday at the Mitchell Tennis Center with first serve set for 1 p.m.
"I know the team is excited to play a home match on Friday," head coach Steve Denton said. "Vandy had a solid SEC win last Friday and they will come in with confidence and momentum. Pretty tricky weekend, as we have a split weekend coming up, playing at home and then we leave for LSU right after our match with Vandy. We can't get ahead of ourselves in this league, and we are finding that out. We had a good week of practice this week in preparation. Last year, Vandy had us on the ropes in our SEC Tournament opener and this team is better. We will need to be alert to get the win."
The Aggies (16-5, 5-2 SEC) are looking to bounce back after losing to No. 5 Kentucky, 4-3, in Lexington. The Maroon & White are led by two-time SEC Player of the Week JC Roddick who has seven ranked victories on the season and two-time SEC Freshman of the Week Tiago Pires who has a 7-3 record on court 5.
The Maroon & White are seeking to extend their eight-match win streak against Vanderbilt (11-7, 2-4 SEC) after beating the Commodores in the 2023 SEC Tournament. Vanderbilt is coming off a loss to No. 8 Tennessee.
