Summary[edit]

Description Delivered as kits, Nissen huts ave been used since the First World War as cheap and quick accommodation for military purposes. The occupation of the Falklands following the conflict in 1982 is no different and these distinctive buildings can be seen all over the islands. Many, I suspect, were sold or repurposed after the rationalising of British forces to Mount Pleasant, and local farm owners made good use of them.
