New England Free Jacks Signs Donald Brighouse

The New England Free Jacks signed Donald Brighouse through the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old prop is 5’11” and 282 lbs. He turns 27 at the end of March and has played both tighthead and loosehead prop.

Donald is from Wellington, New Zealand and attended St Patrick College. He played for the New Zealand U20s in 2013 and from 2014-2018 played with Otago Rugby in the Mitre 10 Cup. He also played with the Super Rugby Crusaders five times in 2018. In 2019 he played for Coventry Rugby Club and for Taranaki Rugby.

Donald’s performance for Otago in 2017 led to his selection by the Samoa National Team for the November internationals. He made his debut for Manu Samoa on November 11, 2017, against Scotland and the last of his 4 tests was against Spain on November 24, 2019. he started three times in tests.
