The club can trace back its history over at least 125 years and has always played an active part in village life.  On Saturdays Drayton plays league cricket in the Morrant Four Counties League, and on Sundays friendlies against local sides. The club encourages village youngsters and is always on the look-out for new players.  It purchased a mobile net in 2008 as a means of bringing on players. The President and Vice Presidents, who are mainly residents of the village, have all supported the club over many years through their generous contributions.
