Distribution: Native from Madeira, Central Europe to Mediterranean according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (accepted as Festuca lachenalii (C.C.Gmel.) Spenn.).
Habitat: Dry and open habitats – dry grassland/ hill pastures, rocky terrains, clearings of forests in the lower parts of the Osogovo region.
Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Flowering period: Late spring:- early summer: MAY, JUN.
