Description

Frame shown is for illustrative purposes only) This is a print of a painting I did myself on my iPad of my home town of Bideford in North Devon. Bideford Town, known by locals as ‘The Little White Town’, a phrase used by Charles Kingsley when he wrote the book Westward Ho!

The town was first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. The town became an important port in the 13th century going on to be the third-largest port by the 16th century. The two sides of the water were connected by the long bridge shown which was built in 1474. Every arch on the bridge is a different size and gives the bridge its own uniqueness.

My painting of the Town of Bideford hopefully shows a little something of everything, the infamous long bridge, the buildings we all know well, the quay and not forgetting a glimpse of the Oldenburg, the passenger ferry which serves Lundy Island.

For your information –

  • All my location paintings are painted from scratch on my iPad in the exact same way I would paint or draw on a piece of paper. They are not photos.
  • All prints are printed to order using Archival Matte Paper, which is acid-free, and has a heavyweight of 230gsm.
  • Please note – due to the fact that monitors often display colour, contrast and brightness differently, the print may appear slightly different to how it appears on your screen.
  • Shipping – Items will be carefully packaged and sent by The Royal Mail.
  • All of the artwork is my own and is not to be copied or resold (c) JJago JagosArt
