Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is listed as questionable for Sunday’s must-win Week 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers due to a rib injury.

Mayfield did not practice on Wednesday, was limited on Thursday, but was a full participant in practice on Friday, which is a step in the right direction for his likelihood of suiting up on Sunday.

The Buccaneers will clinch the NFC South and a spot in the playoffs with a win on Sunday. If Tampa Bay finds a way to lose to the 2–14 Panthers in Charlotte, they are eliminated from playoff contention.

Mayfield, the Buccaneers’ starting quarterback, is questionable for Sunday’s must-win game.

Mayfield has been a catalyst for the Tampa Bay offense in 2023 after taking over for Tom Brady, who retired following last season. The journeyman has started all 16 games for the Bucs this season, completing 64.4% of his passes for 3,907 yards and 28 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions.

He’s played so well under center that Tampa Bay is open to him returning in ’24 and beyond.

The Bucs and Panthers kickoff at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
