My ideal client is one who is self aware and ready to work on making positive changes. Their issues could range from events that happened during childhood to any current thoughts or behaviors that are not producing the desired outcomes. The ideal client will want someone who is there to listen without judgment, someone who will offer honest feedback and someone who will provide support and encouragement. I will work with that client to determine the problems, develop solutions and create goals for progress.
I am a very good listener. I especially hear what is not being said. I am empathetic, non-judgmental, patient and honest. I start where you are and help you to get to where you want to be. My practice model approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to explore and develop client strengths into measurable goals.
My treatment specialties are anxiety and depression, bereavement and grief, advanced illness, adjustment disorders. I draw from multiple theories depending on the presenting problems, utilizing the Developmental Theory Perspective, the Family Life Cycle, the Psychodynamic Theory and the Psychosocial Development Theory.
