In 2012, Semple and Gandhi designated a neotype from Missouri as no other Alabama material was available citing issues with a potential type fragment at NY. Solidago buckleyi was rediscovered in Alabama from Chandler Mountain in St. Clair County (Semple & Keener 2015) based on a specimen collected in 2007 (Keener #4013).--B. Keener
