Karstenia clematidis (?) sur Clematis vitalba
Bernard CLESSE, 30-01-2018 18:04
Bernard CLESSEBonsoir à toutes et tous,

Trouvé récemment ce que je pense être des Karstenia clematidis sur grosse liane morte de clématite des haies (Clematis vitalba).

Qu'en pensez-vous ?

It looks like K. idaei, but I do not know K. clematidis - did you compare the two species?

Hi Zotto,

Thank you for your message ! In fact, I am looking for a key of the genus Karstenia including Karstenia clematidis because I simply saw on the web the existence of this species on Clematis.

Would you have this key?

Thank you very much in advance!

Bernard

haha. No, I only have my key and it contains only what I know. Other keys I do not remember. It is not so simple to go after the substrate because K. idaei occurs on everything.

I read in Sherwood 1980 that the spores of clematidis are only 35-45 x 3-4, with 3-4 µm long cells.

OK Zotto, thank you for the information about K. clematidis !

I do not quite see the difference between K. macer and K. idaei. With the given information and pictures can we eliminate K. macer?

I know macer with larger LBs and darker apothecia, but I know the species is variable, and maybe not all in my folder belongs to it. K. macer is also redescribed by Sherwood in the same paper. Spore 7-septate, this appears to distinguish it! Individual cells double length tha n width.

Here are new pictures of spores, with 9-15 septa.
