Anna Foerster - Episode 1 "AKA Start at the Beginning"

As a second unit cinematographer, Foerster worked on the films Alien Resurrection (1997), Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002), Johnson Family Vacation (2004), The Day After Tomorrow (2004), Æon Flux (2005) and 10,000 BC (2008), also working as a second unit director on the latter four films.

She was the cinematographer for the visual effects and/or miniature unit on Independence Day (1996), Godzilla (1998), Pitch Black (2000) and Stuart Little 2(2002).

As a director, she directed five episodes of the television series Criminal Minds, an episode of its spin-off Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, three episodes of Unforgettable, and four episodes of the Starz series Outlander.

Foerster made her feature film directing debut with the action horror film Underworld: Blood Wars (2016).

Minkie is a Fulbright scholar who graduated with a First Class Honours degree from Central St. Martins School in London. She began her professional life as a photographer, her work being exhibited internationally. She would go on to complete a Masters degree in Film Directing at the Royal College of Art in London. Her early short films received critical acclaim, being awarded at several international film festivals. After graduating she began to make award winning documentaries and soon entered the arena of dramas and pilots for prime time television. In 2004 Minkie was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Newcomer to TV Fiction.

Mairzee Almas has been directing television in the US and Canada for over 15 years. She began her career as a PA and went onto become a first AD on features and television. Eventually, she directed an episode of Smallville and her career took off from there. She’s directed on multiple genre-driven shows like THE 100, THE LAST SHIP, ARROW, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, 12 MONKEYS, IZOMBIE amongst many others. Her directing work encompasses network, basic, premium cable and streaming outlets.

Mairzee received her formal education from both the Vancouver Film School Foundation Film Program and the 2 year actor training program at The F.T.S. Performing Arts Conservatory in Vancouver.

She’s been nominated for multiple directing awards including for Smallville and Motive.

She lives in Vancouver and works all around the world.

Deborah Chow is a Canadian filmmaker, television director and screenwriter. Two of her first short films, Daypass (2002) and The Hill (2004) have both won awards at various international film festivals. She is best known for her first feature film, which she wrote and directed, The High Cost of Living. Her recent directorial works include the TV movie adaption of Flowers in the Attic and episodes of the series Copper, Murdoch Mysteries, Reign, Beauty and the Beast, and Mr. Robot.

Her short film, Daypass, won the Best Actor Award at the Milano Film Festival and the Best Short at the Turin Film Festival. The feature-length screenplay version of the film won the Comedy Central Award for Best Comedy Screenplay. Chow was the winner of the 2005 Kodak New Vision Mentorship award for her short film The Hill, the winnings from which included funding for her first feature film. She was a participant in the Berlinale Talent Campus, Toronto International Film Festival Talent Lab, and the Praxis Screenwriting Lab. Her debut feature film The High Cost of Living won Best First Feature and Top Ten at the Toronto International Film Festival, Best Canadian Feature at the Female Eye Film Fest, and Prix Super-Écran at the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois.

Millicent B. Shelton is an American music video, television and film director.

Shelton began her career as a wardrobe production assistant on the Spike Lee film Do the Right Thing (1989). She went on to direct music videos for artists such as Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly, Aaliyah, CeCe Peniston and Salt-n-Pepa.

Her other directing credits include the motion picture Ride (1998) and episodes of Everybody Hates Chris, The Bernie Mac Show, Girlfriends, Castle, Californication, My Name Is Earl, 90210, Men of a Certain Age, Pan Am, Leverage, and 30 Rock, for which she became the first African-American woman to earn a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for the episode "Apollo, Apollo". She is an alumna of Princeton University and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

She was also script supervisor for the television series Strangers with Candy, Sex and the City, The Comeback, The Sopranos and Mad Men, making her episodic directorial debut on the latter series.She was nominated for two Directors Guild of America Awards for directing the Mad Men episodes "The Gypsy and the Hobo" (season 3, episode 11; 2009) and "The Suitcase" (season 4, episode 7; 2010).

Her other television directing credits are Hung, Men of a Certain Age and The Killing. In 1998, she directed the independent film Blue Christmas, which was written by her older brother, the late Scott Getzinger. She also wrote and directed the short film Save Me in 2006.

Originally from New York City, Friedlander moved to Pennsylvania to attend the Drama Conservatory school at Carnegie Mellon University. 

She then moved to Los Angeles where she attended the University of California Santa Cruz followed by the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, where she graduated as the valedictorian of her class. She also won the Frank S. Glicksman Award for her short film Eleven-Twenty.
