Arrojadoa penicillata

Amazingly rigid pencil-thin cactus from Brazil to 1m+ high, offseting from the base. Flowers bright pink produced from a pseudocephalium (bristly zone at stem tip). Indoors in bright position or, experimentally, outdoors(?)

4.Indoors OK, Outdoors OK only if protected from winter rain.

This plant is about 90 cms high.
These incredible flowers emerge from a tuft of bristles called a cephalium.
After flowering the stem pushes on upwards, but the cephalium can flower again later, as seen here.
