Cephalaria syriaca

Cephalaria syriaca (L.) Roem. et Schult. (SW-As.) – A very rare and ephemeral alien. First recorded as a wool alien in the valley of river Vesdre near Ensival in 1891. Further seen on wasteland in Virton in 1909 and on a dump in Turnhout in 1954. Probably last seen on the unloading quay for cereals at the Amerikadock in the Antwerp port area in 2011. Most records are probably associated with birdseed waste or cereals.

At least part of the Belgian records of Cephalaria syriaca have been ascribed to var. turkestanica Vved.
