Abstract

A new record for the flora of Venezuela and the Rio Negro Basin, Douradoa consimilis, is reported herein. It was collected in the Ekeweni river, a major tributary of the San Miguel River, itself a tributary of the Guainía river that eventually becomes the Rio Negro after its confluence with the Casiquiare canal. It was collected in vegetation subject to immersion, partially or totally, during the rainy season.
