Calcium helps your female have effective uterine contractions during birth. Ineffective contractions can lead to complications. Application of calcium is key. Giving calcium to early can run the risk of a female fine-tuning her milk production. Once your female is in labor supplementation is highly recommended. 3 or 4 doses (1cc per dose) before the first puppy, repeat dosage after first puppy, and use as needed if labor slows.
