Etymology of Argemone:
American genus but given the Latin and Greek name for another "poppy" by Linnaeus; originally from argemos, a white spot, hence eye cataract, which the plant was believed to cure.
Etymology of ochroleuca:
From the Greek ‘ochro’ / ‘ochros’ meaning ‘ochre’; and the Greek ‘leuca’ / ‘leukos’ meaning ‘white’.
