CHARACTER OF THE DAY. Death from The Sandman graphic novels by Neil Gaiman. She is the second oldest in the Endless, a family of anthropomorphic beings. Charming and down-to-earth, this gothic girl is one of most unconventional personifications of the concept of demise, contrary to the clichéd skeleton-with-a-scythe portrayals (she even owns a floppy hat collection and two pet goldfish! Now that’s adorably rad!). One day every century, Death lives (and dies) as a mortal, in order to understand the value of the life she takes. She does this by becoming a mortal fated to die that day.
