Ballingarry was the venue on Sunday evening as we took on Moyle Rovers in Round 2 of the County Championship. Brackens got off to a dreadful start conceding 2-2 in the opening 8 minutes and things weren't looking good. But the lads slowly warmed to the task with points from the two Jacks (Kennedy 4, Fogarty 1 ) added to by a Ciaran Byrne major and a booming 45 from Radek bringing us level by the short whistle ( 2-3 to 1-6 ). Indeed were it not for Moyle Rovers goalkeeper Ian Browne, who pulled off four magnificent saves, Brackens could have been well ahead. And if the first half was about Ian the second half belonged to his brother Declan who showed all his experience to swing the tie in favour of the South men as he kicked four points from play. Adrian Bourke, Michael O'Meara and Jack Kennedy all kicked fine points from play to keep us in touch but a third Rovers major was the final nail in the coffin. Final score: JK Brackens 1-11 Moyle Rovers 3-10.
