Maybe India Is James Anderson’s Favourite Team; His Numbers Seems To Reflect That, Says Zaheer Khan

Former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan said that James Anderson really enjoys bowling against India and the team might be his favourite opposition team. Zaheer Khan’s words arrived after the England pacer Anderson picked a 5-wicket haul against India in the ongoing India vs England 2^nd Test at Lord’s.

While India reached a wonderful total of 276-3 on Day 1 of the Lord’s Test and hoped to keep the momentum going, James Anderson’s five-wicket haul did not allow them to reach a massive total. From 276-3 on Day 1, the Virat Kohli and boys were bowled out for 364 on Day 2. Anderson dismissed 5 Indian batsmen for just 62 runs from his 29 overs in the 1^st innings.

While speaking to Cricbuzz, Zaheer Khan praised the right-arm pacer James Anderson for his excellent bowling against India. The former Indian pacer mentioned that India might be Anderson favourite team to play against.

“James Anderson knows England’s conditions inside out. But maybe India is his favourite team. His numbers seem to reflect that he really enjoys bowling against India and it brings out the best in him. Big bowlers raise their game against great opponents. It gives the bowler immense satisfaction when he does well against a very good side,” Khan said.

Zaheer Khan also lauded Anderson for the kind of form he has shown at this age. The 39-year-old is a regular pacer for England in Test cricket and always come up with a good bowling show for the team.

“No praise is high enough for Anderson. The kind of form he has displayed in the series so far, if he remains fit, there will be no question marks over his performance. There was some injury scare for Anderson ahead of this Test.

“But otherwise, there is no scope for any debate. If there is help in the wicket, Anderson becomes that much more dangerous. He can turn around the game at any time by claiming a couple of quick wickets. Even at this age, with the youngsters coming in, Anderson remains England’s bowling spearhead,” Zaheer further said.
