This is the rare white form of the stunning Azalea! Rhododendron carolinianum, also known as Carolina Azalea or Carolina Rhododendron, is an evergreen plant that forms a rounded mound. In May it produces beautiful 3-inch white flowers. This plant prefers acidic soil as found under evergreen or oak trees, and some shade in hot climates.

Location: Shade or part shade

Type: Hardy shrub

Hardiness zones: 5-8

Note: Ornamental use only. These seeds and/or plants may be poisonous.

Germination: Rhododendron seeds have naturally low germination of about 30-40%. Start these seeds right away to preserve viability, no matter the time of year. These seeds require light for germination. Surface sow the seeds on a sterile seed-start mix, and keep continually moist until plants germinate. Germinate at room temperature. Seeds germinate in about 6-8 weeks.
