SUMMARY
♦ Silene arabica Boiss., Fl. Orient. 1: 593 (1867).
Annual herb, erect, 10- 25 cm tall, glandular-hairy, viscid. Leaves opposite, linear to linear -lanceolate, 1.5-4x 0.1 - 0.3cm, sessile. Inflorescence monochasial cyme; flowers 1.2-1.5cm, with pedicels 0.5- 1.2cm. Calyx 10-veined, cylindrical in the flower and become obovoid in the fruit, 1-1.2 cm long, teeth pedicels 2- 2.5cm, scaroius margin and long ciliated. Petals white, 1.2- 1.5cm, limb 8-10mm, bifid each lobe is emarginate. Fruit capsule, 6.5-9 mm long, ovoid- cylindrical; carpophore 3-6mm. Seeds 0.6mm, smooth or finely striated on both faces.
