Rosario Dawson was born in New York on May 9, 1979. Her father is of Native American and Irish ancestry and her mother in Puerto Rican and Afro-Cuban. Dawson was spotted by film maker Larry Clark and cast in his 1995 movie Kids. When her performance was well received, Dawson decided to further pursue acting and attended the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. Since then Dawson has worked steadily in a wide range of films including He Got Game, Josie and the Pussycats, The 25th Hour, Alexander, Rent, Sin City and Grindhouse. Dawson is a fan of the Boston Red Sox and Guns n’ Roses.
