SUMMARY
Anamorph: unknown.
Teleomorph: Stromata pulvinate, erumpent, dark brown to blackish, seated on the host wood and erumpent though the host bark, composed of darkened pseudoparenchymatous tissue, delimited by a blackish marginal zone, interior brown-grey. Ascomata perithecia, globose to flask-shaped with a short neck, embedded within the lower part of the darkened stroma, ± upright and not convergent, ostioles emerging individually and only slightly exceeding the surface of the stroma. Peridium composed of flattened cells which are dark at the exterior and hyaline on the interior. Interascal tissue absent, the neck periphysate. Asci clavate, thin-walled, with an apical ring, 8-spored, becoming detached and filling the entire perithecial cavity. Ascospores ovoid to ellipsoidal, hyaline, thin-walled, smooth, 1-septate, the septum dividing the length of the spore 2:1 to 6:1, constricted at the septum.
