SUMMARY
Zone lines absent.
Conidiomata 200-300 µm diam., usually roughly circular but often irregular in shape and sometimes coalescing, grey-brown, slightly darker around the indistinct central ostiole. Conidiophores 4-6 x 2-3 µm, hyaline, each bearing one to several conidiogenous cells. Conidiogenous cells 6-12 x ca 1.5 µm, cylindrical in the basal portion, tapering towards the apex, hyaline, smooth-walled, proliferation mostly percurrent but occasionally sympodial; periclinal thickening present. Conidia 2.5-4 x 1-1.5 µm, cylindric-ellipsoidal to obovoid, hyaline, aseptate, smooth-walled.
Teleomorph: ascomata 600-1250 x 400-700 µm, elliptical in surface view, hardly raising the substrate surface, opening by a single longitudinal split running ± the entire length of the ascoma. Clypeus dark grey, lips inconspicuous, perimeter line not defined. Interascal tissue of paraphyses 90-120 µm long, filiform, septate, slightly swollen and strongly contorted near the apex, covered in a thick gelatinous sheath. Asci ripening sequentially, (78-) 90-110 x 7.5-9 µm, cylindrical to narrowly cylindric-clavate, thin-walled, the apex acute to slightly rostrate, without circumapical thickening, short-stalked, opening by a small apical hole, 8-spored. Ascospores fasciculately arranged, not helically coiled, (65-) 70-90 x 1-1.5 µm, filiform, tapered towards the base, hyaline, aseptate, covered with a gelatinous sheath ca 1.5 µm thick at the apex and 1 µm thick over the rest of the spore.
