Description
Scandent subshrubs, branches zig-zag. Leaves to 10 x 5 cm, broadly ovate or elliptic, shortly acuminate at apex, truncate at base, margins minutely crenulate; petiole to 1 cm, auricled at base; ochrea 2.5 cm long, membranous, truncate. Heads glandular pubescent; peduncles to 5 cm; bracts 3 mm, ovate, acute; perianth lobes 4 mm; stamens included; ovary 3-gonous, styles 3. Nutlets 4 mm, trigonous.

Morphology
Shrub, perennial, erect, ca. 1-2m; stem cylindrical with swollen nodes, glabrous, zig-zag manner; leaves simple, alternate, petiolate, ovate, sparsely pubescent, apex acuminate, base truncate, margin entire, ca. 5-8×4-2.7 cm; ochrea tubular, glabrous, membranous, upper portion white and lower portion brown, lightly nerved, long and pointed apical portion, ca. 1.8cm; inflorescence corymbose, peduncle hispidulous or glandular; flower pentamerous, white, ca. 0.4cm; tepals 5, connate at base, lanceolate, acute, entire; stamens 8, included, filament long, equal, anther brownish in colour; styles 3, connate below, capitate, hypogynous, glabrous, ca. 0.3cm; nutes trigonous, ca. 0.3-0.5cm
