7 WAYS TO HELP YOUR FAMILY FILL FEBRUARY WITH LOVE February is a month in which we can help our family learn about Philia love. The definition of philia is translated as “friendship” or brotherly love. These suggestions below can help your family fill February with Philia love! • Have a Valentine’s Day picnic in your living room. • Share a special story about a time when your family or special friend showed compassion. • Write or poem or learn a scripture together: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” This devotional might inspire you to find even more verses! • Play Date! Spend time with your family doing things they love. • Create a “Things I Love About Our Family” Jar. Choose a day to read the messages. • Have a craft night and make Valentines to give to all your family members. • Make Cashin coupons for each other. (For example: chores coupons, movie coupons, breakfast coupons, etc.)

FAMILY CHILD CARE Family Child Care Cheryl Richardson, FCC Coordinator (310) 653-6802

@ FCC LAAFB

Interested in Becoming a Family Child Care Provider? COVID-19 has shut down much of our country. Most of us are working from home while schools and daycares are closed. This pandemic is disheartening on many levels, but have you secretly enjoyed all the time you are able to spend with your children? Reading in blanket forts, rediscovering how cool Legos are, cooking together? Seriously how cute was your little one doing push-ups with you this morning? How about that connection you made with your older child when you involved them in one of your favorite hobbies? Right now, is a great time to start the process of becoming a Family Child Care Provider. Get a head start now so when things return to normal, you’ll be ready for a new normal!

Family Child Care is great for routine daycare needs, but it is also a great option for those times when you just need a few hours of care. Maybe to run some errands or go for a run. When you are in need of care please contact the Family Child Care Coordinator, Cheryl Richardson at (310) 653-6802 or Cheryl.Richardson.4@spaceforce.mil for a list of current providers.

As we move forward in Phase II and hopefully soon Phase III the need for quality child care is increasing. Right now, is a great time to start the process of becoming a Family Child Care Provider. Air Force sponsored Family Child Care Providers can live in base housing or in the surrounding communities. Providers receive training on child growth and development, child abuse prevention and reporting procedures, positive guidance and more! FCC Providers set their own hours; some work full time while others choose to offer care part-time. Give me a call. We can talk about why FCC might be a great fit for your family.
