Portland takes top spot on recent list of 'Coolest Cities in U.S. and Canada'

A recent survey put Portland at the top of its list of the Coolest Cities in the U.S. and Canada.

The Rose City took the No. 1 spot on the Betway online betting site’s survey based on its high number of things like record stores, microbreweries, tattoo parlors, and other things considered “hip.”

The list also took into account other factors like vegan/vegetarian restaurants and thrift stores per capita.

Rounding out the top five are New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Toronto, respectively.

Vancouver, Washington also landed on the list, taking 15th overall. (Vancouver, B.C. was 10th place)

Portland has received several accolades as being one of the top places to check out in the nation.

A report from Forbes Magazine earlier this year said Portland was one of the best travel destinations in the U.S.
