Abstract
Appendicula is a large genus of around 150 epiphytic or lithophytic, rarely terrestrial orchid species distributed in tropical Asia. In Taiwan, the two species are known as bamboo orchid. They are small or large plants with erect or pendulous stems. Pseudobulbs are absent. Leaves are flat, borne on a single plane on an erect or pendulous stem. Inflorescence is terminal, often also lateral, and it carries many small, white or green flowers. There is no horticultural interest in the genus (Comber 2001; Seidenfaden and Wood 1992).
