Abstract

This chapter deals with broadleaved trees, the pathology of which is insufficiently known to warrant chapters of their own. Some minor native trees are included, and so are many ornamentals. Many trees receive no mention because there appear to be no authenticated-records of any diseases on them in this country. Diseases of the well-known fruit tree species Malus, Pyrus and Prunus are dealt with only if they are known to be of some importance on ornamental species or varieties, as most of their diseases can be found in books on the pathology of fruit and horticultural crops.
