My wife and I have been long time customers and we are always made to feel like family. With that, how can you not support family?

I have been coming to General Muffler for over six years and they always provide great customer service. They are on the expensive side but the service is great quality and they get the job done. They're always honest with me and never recommend anything that doesn't need to be fixed. They're definitely my go to for auto mechanics services.

On behalf of this review I will give the positive before the negative.
I went in for an oil change for my vehicle while I was at the front desk I told the gentleman that my heater control valve was leaking to also take a look at it; if he could try to fix the leak first (obviously), option B if he couldn't fix the leak to change it out.
I got my truck got back to my apartment the next day I walk out to check my oil. In the process I notice a new heater control valve, so obviously I wanted to make sure everything was good so I crank my truck as I was about to take a picture it starts leaking worse than the old one.
So I call them up they tell me to bring it in and they take back to the garage the gentleman calls me up takes me back there and then basically says that they didn't put such part on there! Lol
I said do you think that I would've made the bullshit up and that if the old one was leaking worse and y'all didn't mess with it I would've been calling you? Pretty much told me that I was a liar. Which me being mechanically inclined I know what I'm looking at know what I seen. Pretty shitty of a company to do something like that.
I mean overall the oil change was good the costumer service when I brought my truck back was pretty shit basically calling me a liar. Won't go back that's for damn sure. The lady I met at the laundry mat wasn't kidding when she said this town was shitty. Southern hospitality here shit like this don't happen back home. I'm disappointed.

Based on other positive Yelp reviews, I decided to give this place a try. Well, what a pleasant experience. Asked for an oil change and wiper blade replacement. The employees were friendly and very accommodating. From start to finish it was approximately one hour. Upon check out, I was thanked for being a new customer (amazing in a world of crappy customer service). The cost of service was very reasonable. I certainly will become a repeat customer...

General Muffler is my go to. The staff is always great to work with. They are always honest with me and never recommend work that doesn't need to be completed. They work amazingly with all of their customers to get them in and out as quickly as possible. Whenever I am in a bind they always come through and treat me like family. I appreciate all that they do

A long standing family owned local business. Ive used them several times over the past decade for a variety of repair in several different vehicles. They've never let me down. Always quick and easy at a reasonable price.

Our car needed diagnostics and potentially repair, and general muffler guys squeezed us into their busy schedule, diagnosed the problem effectively and addressed the issue in the same day at a reasonable cost.
We will use their services again.

I just got off the phone with someone that hung up on me because I asked him too many questions, extremely rude, I do not understand all the rave reviews and even though he knew a good friend of mine highly recommended his shop, he was even more rude.!!!! wow

This is a family owned business. They've been around for decades. They know my family, extended and immediate. They are knowledgeable, very decent and professional mechanics.
Whenever I've been in a jam they have been honest with me. To my knowledge they do not price gouge. I moved away for twenty years. When I moved back to Ansonia and told them my father passed it was like talking to an old friend.
They have always worked with me financially when money was tight. I highly recommend this auto shop.

Excelent service and resonable prices. After going to another shop n having a bad experiences, GM auto did the job quick and correct the first time. Very professional. They have a new loyal customer. Being a family owed business shows in how they treat you. I totally recomend them to everyone. Theres a reason they been in business for such a long time. Go see for yourself. They go above and beyond what any other place will to get you back on the road and won't take advantage of you in any situation. My only regret is not going to them long ago.
