Lavandula stoechas, commonly known as Spanish Lavender is a small, evergreen, perennial shrub with soft gray-green foliage and cone-shaped clusters of flowers. The flowers are typically purple, although they can also be pink or white, and are topped with distinctive bracts that resemble wings.

Spanish Lavender is one of the earliest to bloom in mid-spring and continues to bloom through late summer. Known for its strong, sweet fragrance. Attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Spanish Lavender needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day, and prefers well-drained soil that is poor, light, and sandy. Water deeply once a week during growing season spring and summer, and reduce watering in the fall and winter. Prune in the fall after the flowers have faded and trim back by one-half its size to encourage bushier growth and more flowers.
