Andrew Tiernan is a British actor. His birth was on 30th November 1965 in Ladywood, Birmingham. He started his acting career joining Birmingham Youth Theatre. In 1984, he came to London for pursuing a three-year diploma at Drama Centre London in acting. He has performed at Donmar Warehouse in Joe Penhall’s ‘The Bullet’ and Sam Shepard’s ‘A Lie of the Mind’. He was collaborated with the director Wilson Milam for a long period; the Tony-nominated, a director. He came back to theaters in the year 2008 with Dorota Maslowska’s play ‘A Couple of Poor’ at the Soho Theatre. Tiernan started his career in films with the 1991 release Edward II. Later, he acted in Lynda La Plante’s award winning ‘Prima Suspect’. Tiernan has worked with Antonia Bird in numerous projects likely Face, Rehab, Spooks and Safe; Safe won the Best Solo drama at Bafta. He also acted in Zack Snyder’s ‘300’; he played the role of Ephialtes of Franchis. For his role, it used to take 10 hours daily to complete the prosthetics dress. Tiernan has also acted in many TV series. He started with ‘Nice Work’ in 1989. Later Tiernan appeared in series like ‘Caracker’, ‘Hornblower’, ‘Life on Mars’ and many more. He made his directorial debut with the film ‘Dragonfly’ in 2012.
